Who we are

This policy is issued by the company identified below, the developer of the Speedometer iOS application and the operator of this website. Together, the application and the website are referred to as the "Service".

What this policy covers

It covers the Speedometer iOS app and the speed.fibomobile.com website. It does not cover the App Store itself, which Apple operates under its own privacy policy, nor any third-party website we link to.

Location data

Speedometer is a speedometer: without your location it has nothing to show. When you grant the "While Using the App" location permission, iOS supplies the app with GPS position and speed readings.

Those readings are processed on your iPhone to display your current speed, to accumulate distance and average and maximum speed for the session, and to draw the route of a recorded trip. We do not receive a copy of your position, your routes or your trips.

If you deny or revoke location permission, the speed display and trip recording stop working. You can change the permission at any time in the iOS Settings app.

What is stored on your device

The following is held in the app on your iPhone and is not uploaded to us:

• Recorded trips: distance, total time, moving duration, stop time, average and maximum speed, the route, and the start and finish locations.
• Acceleration test results and their history.
• Your settings: units, transport type, gauge scale, speed limit and theme.

You can delete any trip from its detail screen. Deleting the app removes everything it stored.

What we do not do

• We do not ask you to create an account or to give us your name, email address or phone number to use the app.
• We do not upload, sell, rent or trade your trips, your routes or your recorded speeds. They stay on your device.
• We do not track your position in the background for our own purposes.

Third-party services in the app

The free app is supported by advertising and uses two Google services alongside Apple's. Each processes data under its own privacy policy; what follows is what they receive from this app.

• Apple — App Store. Downloads, subscriptions, renewals, restores and refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's own terms and privacy policy. We receive aggregate sales and subscription reports; they do not identify you.
• Apple Maps. The map screens request map tiles from Apple's mapping service, which means your device contacts Apple. That request is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
• Google AdMob (advertising). The app shows ads. To select, cap, deliver and measure them, AdMob processes your device's advertising identifier (only when you allow tracking), IP address, device model, operating system and app version, language and region, and your interactions with the ads. Your trips, routes, locations and speed readings are never sent to AdMob.
• Google Firebase (analytics and crash reporting). Firebase processes a randomly generated app-instance identifier, device model, operating system and app version, language, a coarse region derived from your IP address, in-app events such as which screens are opened, and crash diagnostics when the app fails. Your trips, routes, locations and speed readings are never sent to Firebase.

Google acts as an independent controller for advertising and as our processor for analytics and crash reporting. Both are operated by Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC.

Your choices for ads and analytics

• App Tracking Transparency. iOS asks whether the app may track you across other companies' apps and websites. If you decline, your advertising identifier is not shared and the ads you see are non-personalised. You can change the answer at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
• Ad personalisation. You can also limit ad personalisation for every app in Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising.
• EEA, United Kingdom and Switzerland. Where the law requires consent, Google's consent form is shown before personalised advertising and analytics are enabled. You can change or withdraw that choice from the privacy option in the app's settings.
• Ads are part of the free version. Whether a paid subscription removes them is described on the plan's page in the App Store.

International transfers

Apple and Google process the data described above on infrastructure located in several countries, including outside Türkiye and the European Economic Area. Those transfers rely on the mechanisms each provider publishes, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. We do not transfer data ourselves, because the data described in this policy does not reach our own servers.

If you contact us

When you email our support address we receive your email address and whatever you choose to tell us. We use it only to answer you, and we keep the correspondence no longer than we need it for that purpose and for our own records of the request.

Children

Speedometer is rated 4+ but it is a driving tool; it is not designed for or directed at children, and it is not published in the App Store's Kids category. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has used the app and you want the advertising identifier associated with that device cleared, reset it in Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising and decline tracking.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK) and comparable laws, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability in respect of personal data a controller holds about you.

Because your trips and settings are stored on your own device and are not transmitted to us, we normally hold no personal data about you to produce, correct or erase; you exercise these rights directly by editing or deleting the data in the app, or by deleting the app. If you have written to our support address and want that correspondence erased, ask us and we will do it.

For the data held by Google through AdMob and Firebase, exercise your rights through the controls described in section 7 above and through Google's own privacy tools; write to us and we will help you route the request.

You may also complain to a supervisory authority. In Türkiye this is the Kişisel Verileri Koruma Kurumu (KVKK); in the EU it is the data protection authority of your country of residence.

Purchases and refund requests

Subscriptions are purchased through your Apple ID and are managed by Apple. We do not see your payment details at any point.

If you ask Apple for a refund, Apple may ask us to help evaluate the request. If we are asked, we may share with Apple information about the purchase and about your use of the subscription for that purpose only. If you would rather we did not, email us at the address below and we will not respond to such a request about your purchase.

Security

Your trip data lives on your iPhone and is protected by the device's own security: your passcode, Face ID or Touch ID, and iOS file protection. Keep your device software up to date and use a passcode.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of the page, and, where the change is significant, note it in the app release notes. The current version always lives at this URL.
