01

The speed reads zero or does not move

Speedometer needs location permission to read GPS. Open the iOS Settings app, find Speedometer, tap Location and choose While Using the App.

If permission is already granted, step outside or away from tall buildings and give the GPS receiver up to a minute to acquire a fix. Indoors, in tunnels and in underground car parks there is often no usable signal at all.

02

The reading is different from my car dashboard

This is normal. Car speedometers are permitted to over-read and generally do, while GPS measures your movement over the ground. A difference of a few percent is expected.

03

Speed-limit alerts are not firing

Check that a limit is set in the profile tab - the default value is 0, which means no alert. Also make sure your phone is not in silent mode if you expect a sound.

04

The acceleration test never finishes

The test runs from the starting speed you chose to the stop speed you chose. If the stop speed is never reached, the run stays open. Lower the stop speed, or run the test where it is safe and legal to reach it.

05

A trip is missing from History

A session is only saved after it is stopped. If the app was force-quit mid-trip, or the trip was deleted from the detail screen, it cannot be recovered.

06

Subscriptions, renewals and refunds

Subscriptions are billed and managed by Apple. To cancel, open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions and cancel Speedometer at least 24 hours before the current period ends.

To restore a subscription on a new device, open the profile tab and tap Restore Purchases while signed in with the Apple ID that bought it.

Refunds are issued by Apple, not by us. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
